Day 1 - Val d'Ajol
Arrival in Val d'Ajol and hotel check in.
Day 2 - Val d'Ajol - Forêt Noire
You start your motorcycle adventure by following the beautiful roads of the Eastern Vosges which will lead you to the southern part of the ridge road of Alsace. Then after a visit to Eguisheim, classified as the most beautiful village in France, you will enter Germany to climb the first foothills of the Black Forest and reach Triberg, the village of cuckoos.
Day 3 - Forêt Noire - Neustadt An Der Weinstrasse
We'll follow the superb roads of the Black Forest northwards, passing through typical German villages and many perched castles. Then we'll visit Baden Baden, the famous spa town with its magnificent 18th-century monuments. Finally, via the Rhine Valley and the wine routes, we reach Neustadt An Der Weinstrasse.
Day 4 - Neustadt ADW - Vallée de la Moselle
This tour takes in the Rhine Valley, with its UNESCO World Heritage landscapes. Pass the Loreley Rock, famous for its legends, then stop off at Pfalzgrafenstein Castle, a fortress on an island in the Rhine. In Koblenz, discover the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle at the Deutsches Eck. The route continues through the Moselle Valley, famous for its vineyards, to Cochem, where you can visit the old town and its medieval castle overlooking the river.
Day 5 - Vallée de la Moselle - La Petite Pierre
The day begins by following the Moselle Valley, passing through wine-growing landscapes and typical villages. On to the meandering Saar, which offers panoramic views of one of Europe's most beautiful river loops. Visit the Völklingen Iron and Steel Museum, a UNESCO-listed monument to the region's industrial past. The route ends at La Petite Pierre, a listed village in the heart of the Vosges, renowned for its castle and architectural heritage.
Day 6 - La Petite Pierre - Obernai
You leave La Petite Pierre to ride along the Marne canal which will allow you to admire the old medieval fortresses that once defended Alsace. You will be able to see curiosities there like the boat lift of St Louis or the rock of Dabo which dominates the forests of Alsace. Then you can visit the Struthof concentration camp before reaching an authentic Alsatian village: Obernai.
Day 7 - Obernai - Val d'Ajol
You start your day by visiting the most beautiful typical villages of Alsace such as Riquewhir, Kaysersberg or Hunawirh which will take you through the magnificent wine-growing hills without missing the majestic Haut Koenigsbourg castle which dominates the Alsace plain. Then you will join the Route des Crêtes and its legendary passes: the Schlucht, the Bonhomme to reach finally the Vosges moutains, your starting point.
At the crossroads of Europe, Alsace invites you to travel by motorcycle. The journey begins in style with the legendary Route des Crêtes, in the heart of the Vosges mountains. This impressive road, built during the First World War, winds its way between peaks and valleys, offering breathtaking panoramas. You'll cross the Col de la Schlucht before reaching the Grand Ballon, the highest point in the Vosges massif at 1424 meters. A perfect warm-up before plunging into adventure.
Then it's on to the Black Forest, a land of legends and a biker's paradise. Winding roads lined with towering fir trees and sparkling lakes take you through this natural setting. Triberg, famous for its cuckoo clocks and impressive waterfalls, is a must-see. The B500, nicknamed the Schwarzwaldhochstraße, offers one of the most beautiful stretches in Germany, with its panoramic ridges and exhilarating curves.
After this Germanic crossing, the route follows the Rhine northwards towards the historic city of Koblenz, at the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle rivers: the Deutsches Eck, a symbol of German unity offering spectacular views of both rivers.
The journey continues down the Moselle valley, a charming region punctuated by terraced vineyards and medieval castles perched on the heights. The winding roads along the river will take you into the heart of an enchanting, undulating landscape, ideal for a motorized ride between nature and history.
Finally, we return to Alsace to conclude this exceptional loop. The Alsace wine route is the perfect epilogue to this journey. Between picturesque villages with half-timbered houses, welcoming wine cellars and exceptional vintages - such as late-harvest Gewurztraminer or Sylvaner - you'll enjoy a final immersion in this region's unique heritage.
