Day 1 - Tours - Chinon
You will follow the Cher valley to reach the castle of Villandry, famous for its gardens then having been able to admire the one of Langeais you will fall under the charm of that of the Sleeping Beauty castle in Ussé. More castles like that Saumur or Montsoreau before reaching the medieval city of Chinon on the Vienne river for your stopover.
Day 2 - Chinon - Amboise
After crossing the Chinon vineyards, you will visit the pretty medieval village of Crissay sur Manse through which you can reach the Courtineau valley and then the Lochois county. After strolling through the narrow streets of Loches full of history, you will take the road towards Amboise, city of Leonardo da Vinci with its castle which proudly overlooks the Loire.
Day 3 - Amboise - Tours
The Loire will be your common thread of the day to admire the main jewels of the Loire castles: Chaumont, Blois, Cheverny, but it is above all Chambord that will leave you speechless. Then by the small roads of the Touraine vineyards you will reach the Cher valley to admire the castle of Chenonceau spanning the river. You will only have a few more kilometers to cover before reaching Tours.
The Loire Valley is of course well known for its bicycle itinerary but why not add a engine to it to wander the banks of this majestic river. You will be surprised how many castles can be seen in a day while winding the small country roads of the wineyard. During this week-end you will discover a region rich in history, with a tasty gastronomy and a large variety of wines. Let's jump back in time, the time of queen & kings !.
